Trend Micro Network VirusWall Enforcer 2500

Network VirusWall Enforcer delivers new plug-n-protect network access control to protect the network against the fastest growing source of infection; the mobile and remote workforce. This second generation Network VirusWall appliance controls network access by ensuring devices-managed or unmanaged, local or remote-comply with corporate security policies-before they can access the network.

Network VirusWall Enforcer scans devices for the most up-to-date security software and critical Microsoft patches-without requiring an agent to be pre-installed on a device. Non-compliant devices are immediately quarantined and sent through automatic remediation. The appliance also builds on proven Network VirusWall security, filtering network traffic to detect and block network worms and BOTs-with zero false positives.

Ease of Management
As a true plug-and-protect appliance, Network VirusWall Enforcer offers flexible deployment options for single or multiple network segments, remote VPN users, unmanaged users, or mission-critical applications. Standalone deployments can be managed from a built-in Web console, while complex deployments of several appliances can be managed using a single, central console Trend Micro Control Manager.

Flexible Quarantine and Automatic Remediation
When a device does not meet security policy requirements, it is quarantined to a pre-defined virtual local area network (VLAN) for automatic remediation. Whether the device is local or remote, it can remove malicious remnants and spyware, repair system modifications and registry, terminate virus processes and threads in system memory, and restore damaged files. As soon as a device is security compliant, network access is allowed.

Integrated Security for Intelligent Threat Protection
Network VirusWall Enforcer is a key component of Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy, a security framework that combines multiple layers of Trend Micro products and services-for intelligent, comprehensive protection against known and unknown threats.
As a tightly-integrated, centrally-managed security platform, it is designed to:

Network Worm Prevention
Building on proven Network VirusWall technology, the appliance filters network traffic to stop worms and BOTs. Using vulnerability signatures, it can also block variants of a threat. In the rare case a worm does invade, infected network segments are isolated to contain the threat.

Plug-n-Protect Access Control
Network VirusWall Enforcer does not require an agent to be pre-installed on a device, which means you have full access control - even for partners, contractors, and visitors. The plug-n-protect appliance provides all the tools you need, when you need them, including:

• Remote Port Scan: - checks the security of any device-managed or unmanaged-by performing a remote port scan before the device can connect to the network.
• Temporary Dynamic Scan: - scans for hundreds of versions of antivirus software, critical Microsoft patches, and registry parameters. The process is fully automated.
• On-Demand Security: - automatically installs an on-demand agent to secure an unprotected device while the user remains connected to the corporate network.

Security Policy Enforcement
IT administrators can define granular security policies to filter network traffic and block specific file transfers, file type extensions, instant message channels, a range of addresses or an individual IP/MAC address, and TCP/UDP ports and protocols. In addition, it can automatically check for the latest signatures from each vendor so policies always remain current.
